I was the absolute first guest to enter this exhibit and after walking five flights of stairs in 4 inch heels I absolutely had no idea what I was walking into. To my surprise, I walked into a simple yet edgy open space with one couch and a cocktail bar. After sitting for about 20 minutes feeling awkward and wondering if I was too early I finally began to see guests other than the staff walking in. As time went on I began to meet people and so the night began.
This fashion presentation, set up in a lofty studio space that filled with close to one hundred inquisitive onlookers gave new meaning to the word “art”. The small venue made for an intimate ambiance that along with lighting and sound effects made one feel as though they were sitting in the comfort of their own home. I was able to get to speak with founder and CEO of Dayo, Yolanda White who upon building this brand had no experience in fashion other than being a consumer. Residing in Atlanta, GA, Yolanda resigned from her tenure at Coca- Cola. In 2018, she began working on Dayo and within that period managed to make Chilli of TLC the face of her brand. A mother of two boys; her goal is to remind women that success begins with self-love even in the midst of life’s daily requirements.
Dayo is a brand for fine high- quality, elegant women’s loungewear that can be worn to chill around in all day, do remote work at home, or even run some errands. Each piece has a unique benefit to provide both coziness and style. Comfort at its best, I was excited to learn that some pieces provide breast support, serving women options to go braless. Who wouldn’t love that!
