Designer, Yu-Ying Chou founded his label JUST IN XX in 2014. Some of New York’s most stylish stepped out for the Taiwanese designers NYFW 2020 reveal. Notable attendees included Mrs.Taiwan World 2020, Allison Feng. With each piece in the collection more than one medium has been employed. This mixed media design aesthetic transforms classic silhouettes into unique eye catching pieces. Comprised of vibrant hughes, metal, wool, gingham and unconventional objects such as chains and motorcycle locks. His remix on a classic winter wardrobe redefines outerwear.
Incorporating common items from his Taiwanese’s life, the designer’s original concepts were complemented by American jewelry brand Fovea. Another visible switch on a classic was Chou’s take on the converse sneaker. The models sneakers were reconstructed with shoes worn in previous shows. This resourcefulness and environmentally friendly decision on sustainability further cemented JUS IN XX as a fashion leader. His progression is one to watch in the global fashion world.
