Energy, that is what filled the room as I made my way into the Vivienne Hu Spring/Summer 2020 Show. Former investment banker Vivienne Hu’s Spring 2020 fashion show was standing room only. As the fashionistas hit the room everyone was waiting to see the New York based designer’s latest and greatest. Hu did not disappoint. Attendees were treated to live entertainment from Chinese singer, Chang Sisi and American recording artist Elle Varner who opened the show with a duet of “Only Wanna Give it to You.” Models walked the runway in what I can only describe as edgy chic. Hu’s skillfully mixed ruffles, lace, metallics, leather and corsets that created a modern retro glam.
The runway collection was pure genius. Hu’s bold use of playing with very feminine silhouettes and balancing them with just enough edge gave the collection the remix that we have all been waiting for. The models walked the runway wearing Hu’s makeup line. The line is currently sold in Macy’s featuring a variety of lipsticks, eyeshadows, and eyebrow pencils. The models skin was prepped by luxurious skin care products provided by the prominent Japanese skincare line, Rice Force. Models hair told a cohesive story matching every detail of Hu’s collection from stylized bobby pins to bouncing curls. Everything was in the details from head to toe. Bravo!
