“Into the Splendor” was the theme of the upcoming Spring/Summer 2020 collection. Splendid indeed it was! Sequins and ruffles ruled the runway of this retro chic collection. In true on Jung Wan fashion she effortlessly combined glamour, elegance with a hint of sexy in each piece that came down the runway.
Bright hues of yellows and neon greens as well as very flirty floral patterns were some of the eye candy colors that grabbed our attention. Show stoppers were the statement pieces in rainbow colored sequins and rich metallics. Silk was a favorite fabric used throughout for both the women’s and men’s designs which looked very luxurious and inviting to wear.
Dramatic is what you can call the silhouettes, from the asymmetric symmetry to puffy off the shoulder sleeves and lots of tiered layering. This collection was very bold and daring, yet playful at the same time. Son Jung Wan is always one of my favorite shows to attend each season. She can do no wrong and the collection never loses it luster. I don’t know how she continues to improve upon perfection!
