The Arlo Studio
The Arlo Studio’s NYFW debut is one for the books! Their AW20 show took unanticipated colour collaborations to another level, being paired with asymmetrically deconstructed geometry for a fresh showing. Either doused in colour head-to-toe or muted tones, the vibrance screams from this collection as it re-imagined life in the Australian wilderness.
Shun Oyama Tokyo
“Feminine Aristocracy” nicely sums up this collection. Elegant layered tailoring led to a classically modern showing from Shun Oyama for AW20 with strong structured dresses highlighted by metallic influences taking shape. A Napoleon-esque influence is inescapably seen here with all of the pomp and circumstance of the buttons woven throughout the collection.
Gigi Wang
This A/W20 collection translates traditional Chinese storytelling into a vision! She makes sure to represent children as a major inspirational influence by making their showing as strong as the adults’. Brilliant pops of colour and trendy modernized stylistic sustainability make for a presentation geared toward the upcoming generations of fashion artists.
Alicia Perrillo
This collection effortlessly married high-end materials and sheer fabrics with flowy gender-bending lines and silhouettes for a truly lux presentation. Different shapes, sizes, and genders are represented in this showing highlighting the designer’s true versatility. Her use of layered color pops add to the visual stimulation of this forward-thinking line.
