Leger’s Ready to Wear Fall 2021 Collection channels Mila Jovovich in The Fifth Element. It is arguably some of Jean Paul Gaultier’s most show-stopping costumes in cinema. Paying homage to the Sci-Fi classic through inspiration of the widely recognizable Leeloo white bandage dress. A simplistic look that perfectly captured the futuristic style needed for the film. Launched on February 17th for Fall 2021 Herve Leger re-created this in a surprisingly modest way with a two piece set, solid white skirt and impeccably cut out bodycon crop top. Another stand out from this collection, the knitted turtleneck sweater dress bodice with shoulder cut outs and signature bodycon skirt.
The Spring 2021 collection launched on January 25th. After arriving in Paris to conduct research, Creative Director, Juul Nielsen was unfortunately stuck inside due to the pandemic. He drew inspiration from old couture, work sketchbooks, and Polaroids. The bright colors of 80s and 90s couture, variations of ribbed knits, and large ruffle finishings are encapsulated in this collection. Including nylon tech yarns with texture creating transparencies. Paying homage to the past while looking forward to a bright future.
Under the leadership of creative director Christian July Nielsen, the Herve Leger Fall 2021 collection continues to celebrate the female form. The French fashion house encompasses femininity, and any woman in Herve Leger will undoubtedly stand out from the crowd.
