New York Fashion Week was back in effect! Finally physical shows to attend again. Though the number of attendees was limited due to Covid, that still didn’t stop the show! The show I’m referring to is the Tiffany Brown Collection which took place in at Swift Studios. All shades of purple hues graced runway of the collection that was entitled “Lavender”. As she states, “lavender symbolizes and represents spiritual healing, tranquility, easing of tension and purification”. With the year and a half we all have had, healing is definitely needed and what better way to do it than through fashion.
From Lilac, to lavender, to aubergine, we see some of the carryover colors from this upcoming Fall/Winter 2021 season. Tulle, was the stand out silhouettes for me, from the bold purple full tulle skirt to the lavender mini tulle dress. Other fabrications used for pieces in collection were satin, suede, and cotton blends. Casual to couture is the best way to describe the selections. They ranged from sleepwear to suits, to evening dresses and athleisure wear. The menswear items were my favorites as they were well tailored and effortless. Brown crafted designs for both women and men which is not an easy feat to do, but results were worth it.
Tiffany Brown, or shall I say Dr. Brown as she has a PhD, has brains, beauty, and fashion under her belt. I recall attending one of her shows many years ago and notice the growth in her design aesthetics. Her spring/summer line will be the breath of fresh air that we all so desperately need!
