Bibhu Mohapatra New York Fashion Week Fall 23

The Fall 23 collection of Bibhu Mohapatra entitled, #Allegory was impeccable and I expected nothing less! This season the designer’s inspiration was drawn from someone he admired and considers his muse, Nancy Cunard, who was a poet, political activist and very influential for the fight against inequality and racial injustice. With that being said, he has put together powerful and pivotal pieces.

Each look consisted of timeless, classic  silhouettes, with a hint of a modern spin.  The thirty seven piece collection included cashmere, vegan leathers, lace and faille fabrics. The rich tones of orange, chartreuse and claret where strong in the color palette which played well against the neutrals of ivory, stone and silver blue. What I appreciate about Mohapatra’s designs is that they are all wearable pieces that are very interchangeable. There was a lace and cady top that I would pair over the strapless dress blue silver dress shown in the line to create another after five/cocktail look. The top also can be paired well with denim for a dressy casual style.

This is always one of my favorite NYFW shows to attend and look forward  more eye catching looks each season!
